KEWASKUM — The Indians jumped out to a 13-0 lead and dominated Plymouth, one of the teams picked as a preseason favorite to win the Eastern Wisconsin Conference title.

Kewaskum went on to win, 50-36, to improve to 4-0 overall on the season and 2-0 in the EWC.

The Indians led 26-17 at the half and then won the third quarter 11-7.

"We were playing great defense," said Kewaskum coach Mike Kleinhans who has the Indians at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in league play. "And we did a good job of boxing them out and keeping them off the boards."

Especially Candace Beine, who had 16 rebounds, eight of them on the offensive side.

"She was just all over the place. She'd kick it back out and we'd restart the offense," Kleinhans said.

Anna Butler led Kewaskum with 20 points and Jenna Buker chipped in with 11. Amanda Gumm led Plymouth with 10 points.

"We just played well overall," Kleinhans said. "We played well defensively, but we have to cut down our turnovers, though, we had 28 turnovers."
