PLYMOUTH — Lomira High School had five of its
wrestlers go undefeated Saturday on the Lions' way to the championship of the
Plymouth Duals.
Lomira beat Milwaukee Bay View
(72-12), Brodhead Juda (50-24), and Plymouth (37-36) before going into the
winner's pool, where the Lions defeated Greendale Martin Luther, 65-12, and
then Brookfield Central, 48-27, for the championship.
The Lions go to 14-0 on the
season.
The undefeated Lomira
wrestlers: Tyler Scharschmidt (103 pounds), Garrett Keller (112), Donny
Robinson pinned his way through
the meet for five more pins.
Jordan Zimmel, at 135 pounds,
went 4-1, but had a big win in the Plymouth match to give Lomira the deciding
points.
"In the championship
round, we really wrestled well," said Lomira coach Dave Meyer. "The
Plymouth match was a wake-up call, and we really took it to Greendale Martin
Luther and Brookfield Central."

Plymouth, Elkhart Lake at Plymouth
Duals Invitational — Collin Rortvedt, at 125 pounds, won all five matches to
lead the Panthers to third place at its own duals invite. At 189 pounds, Elkhart Lake's Adam Ruechel
went 5-0. Lomira took first and Brookfield Central was second.
