PREP GOLF: Ripon, Springs win titles

Ripon, St. Mary's Springs and Sheboygan Lutheran won championships in their respective divisions Wednesday at the Oriole/Ledger golf invitational at Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Fond du Lac.

Ripon won the eight-team Division 1 competition with a total of 336 shots.

Ryonen Faris shot 77 to lead the Tigers and was the D1 medalist, and Eric Lueptow was next at 84.

Campbellsport was second in Division 1 with 343 shots. Ryan Newburry shot 79 to lead the Cougars.

North Fondy shot 383 for sixth place, led by Jarrod Marose with 89.

Lomira's Cole Dineen shot 82, and the Lions totaled 391 for seventh place.

Mayville was eighth with 429 strokes. Robby Pedersen had a 101 to pace the Cardinals.

In Division 2, Springs had a 332 for first, followed by Winnebago Lutheran, which shot 338.

Springs' Nate Strigenz shot 74 for the low man in D2.

WLA's Matt Barenz shot 76.

Laconia shot 419 for seventh place in the eight-team division. Brandon Julka led Laconia with an 89.

Sheboygan Lutheran won Division 3 with 315 strokes. Ried Schmidler shot 72 for medalist honors.

Central Wisconsin Christian was third with 354 strokes. Luke Ganz broke 80 with a 78 for the Crusaders.

Markesan was sixth at 387. Cody Laper had an 84 for the Hornets' top score.

Oakfield came in seventh at 400. Jacob Hilbert led the Oaks with an 86.
