Madison La Follette Multi-Duals

MADISON – Brady Huenink was voted the Most
Valuable Wrestler while going undefeated at 160 pounds as Waupun went 4-1 at
Saturday’s Madison La Follette Duals.
The Warriors posted wins over the hosts (54-27), Madison East (66-18), Lake
Geneva Badger (54-30) and DeForest (76-6) but fell to
Mukwonago (47-27).
Joining Huenink with a 5-0 day were Josh Cypert (112), Justin Schuenemann
(119) and Taylor Huenink (140).
“You can not predict young teams,” Waupun coach
Dennis Draves said. “One time they lay the biggest
egg you’ve ever seen, and the next time they have an outstanding outing like
today.
“Today was a great confidence builder. It would be nice to think we could
build on this day. We’ll see.”
Waupun had four wrestlers go 4-1 including Mike Cypert
(125), Ryan Schultz (130), Kevin Messer (135) and Justin McLinn
(145). The Warriors host New Holstein Thursday.
